Ageo Cherry blossom festival
March 26 @ 08:00 - 17:00Free
The Ageo Cherry Blossom Festival is held in two different locations in Ageo. One is the grounds of the Ageo Bunka (Culture) center and the other is Maruyama park.
When my kids were toddlers Maruyama park was one of our favourites for “hanami”, picnicking under a blooming tree, both for Ume blossoms and Cherry Blossoms. It is a great park all year round with lots for the kids to enjoy and it is picturesque throughout the seasons.
The 2019 Ageo Cherry Blossom festival will start from Tuesday March 26th and run until Sunday April 7th from 9.30 am to 4 pm. On the weekends – March 30th and 31st, April 6th and 7th – there will be festival stalls in Maruyama Park. Other specifics for the event are yet to be released.
On the 3rd of April there will be a “Sakura Cafe” in the culture center. A cake and coffee with a cherry blossom view for 500 yen. This event is limited to the first 60 people to book. You can already book by enquiring at the culture center.
