Happy Spring Festival | NAMEGAWA
February 9, 2019 @ 08:00 – April 6, 2019 @ 17:00
Every year Shinrin Park host one of the longest “spring festivals”. It is not a festival in the sense of a “matsuri”, but a spring festival celebrating flora and fauna with some seasonal activities and events planned during the period. This year that period is from February 9th until March 31st.
For the opening weekend they don’t have a particular spring fair event, but there is a guided tour of the botanical gardens on Saturday 9th. Witch hazel is coming into bloom there and should be peaking on the 9th. In another part of the park there are snowdrops in bloom. Later in the month (of February) the plum blossoms will be in bloom in the plum garden. March will bring other flowers and blooms such as tulips and cherry blossoms.
Until March 19th the restaurants will have limited edition food available. The central restaurant has an apple pizza and the Tenbou (view) restaurant has a “Happy Ume plum set”. The central shop and the shop at the botanical garden will be selling spring parfait.
During the Happy Spring Festival period there is a Happy Spring Park event in the middle of March that is very good. More information on this blog:
