Heisei No Mori Winter Illumination | KAWAJIMA
December 1, 2018 @ 17:00 - December 25, 2018 @ 21:00
The winter illumination in Heisei no Mori Park in Kawajima is both one of the smaller and newest night illumination in the prefecture of Saitama. However, it is very picturesque and relaxing. It is set to music and uses colour and projection mapping to breathtaking effect.
Heisei no mori park is a small park in Kawajima Town, most known for its roses. The town claims that it has the longest rose tunnel in Japan. It is certainly long (and very beautiful), but I can’t confirm it is the longest, especially as another city in Gifu claims the same! More details about the park:
As beautiful and bewitching as the night illumination at the park is, I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to see it, especially if you don’t drive. If you are coming by car and have plans nearby it is worth popping into see. However, there is absolutely nothing else in the area open at that time of night. Even during the day there are only a handful of places in the vicinity. One of those is worth a visit; the Toyama Memorial Museum. There is a Cainz relatively near that sells delicious cheap muffins! But as it is a rural area there is not a lot else.
The 2018 dates for the Heisei No Mori Winter Illumination are December 1st to December 25th. There will be a turn on event on Saturday December 1st. Details of that event have not yet been released (November 1st 2018).
