Iwatsuki Castle Park Cherry Blossom Festival
Update April 1st 2020 – this event will not go ahead as scheduled. The prefectural website has confirmed they have cancelled the event and the light up for 2020 due to Covid-19.
As of March 22nd 2020 the Saitama Tourism and International Tourism Bureau still have not made a decision whether or not to go ahead with the 43rd annual Iwatsuki Castle Park sakura matsuri. If it does go ahead it will be held on April 4th and 5th. It will be announced on their official website here.
There are about 600 cherry blossoms. During the festival there is a flea and farmers market, and about 20 festival stalls. The festival is on from 10 am to 4 pm, but you can view the cherry blossoms outside this time and the cherry blossoms light up is on from 6 pm to 9 pm from mid-March to early April.
