Kawaguchi Illumination 2018
– This year the night illumination in kawaguchi is going to be their biggest winter display ever. This year they are adding even more LED lights than previous year. They will use 300,000 bulbs in total.
From the official site
There are displays at three of Kawaguchi stations – Kawaguchi Station, JR Nishi Kawaguchi station and Saitama Railway Corporation’s Higashi Kawaguchi Station. The display at Kawaguchi station is the main one with light ups at the West exit, the East area rotary and pedestrian deck. This year the display is called “Hikari Fantasy” or Fantasy lights. They are using gold bulbs to represent starts and green ones for a forest feel. They have planned a golden arch, a beautiful night view photo prop.
The illumination will be turned on nightly from the 7th of December to the 14th of February. Hours will be from 5 pm except on the first night. On the first night, December 7th the inaugural switch on at Kawaguchi station West exit will be at approximately 6 pm with a short count down before hand. On January 14th, Seijin no Hi, the display will be on from 9 am. The lights will be turned off at 11 pm every day during the illumination period.
