The 41st annual occurrence of the event will be held on Saturday September 7th from 1.30 pm to 8.30 pm. They plan to go ahead if there is light rain, but there maybe changes to the schedule or even cancellation if there is heavy rain, a typhoon or other unforeseen circumstances.
Apart from dance performances parading the streets, there will be attractions for kids. For example, they can dress up in fire fighting outfits and / or meet mascots. There are musical performances scheduled too.
The awa odori starts from 5 pm and around the same time they have a children’s portable shrine “mikoshi” parade. There is no cover charge to view the various attractions of the festival.
