Nikufes Meat Festival at Saitama Shintoshin
October 9 @ 11:00 - October 14 @ 21:00Free
Nikufes “Meat saves the earth”!
Another week, another meat festival! This week it is in Saitama Shintoshin. And it is part of the larger brand “Nikufes®” which organizes meat festivals around the Greater Tokyo area.
Saitama Shintoshin Nikufes
The Saitama Shintoshin niku fes or meat festival is starting tomorrow, Wednesday October 9th, and will run until bank holiday Monday 14th. If you are currently in Japan and have been watching the news, you’ll know a mammoth typhoon is on the way. If it makes landfall the way that they are predicting it will, it is highly likely there will be some changes to the line up for the 2019 Nikufes on the Sunday. And possibly the Saturday and Monday too.
There is no entry fee into the event space. Drinks and foods cost money and some of the events will have charges too. There is a large music event with popular DJs scheduled for Monday the 14th and there will be other music and live performances on each day of the festival.
The festival starts from 11 am on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and from 10 am on the weekend and bank holiday. The festival ends at 9 pm except on the last day when it finishes at 8 pm.
Access Saitama Shintoshin
The meat festival is about a 2 minute walk from JR Saitama shintoshin Station, about a 7 minute walk from JR Kitayono Station.
Parking is available: it costs 400 yen for the 1st hour, 200 yen for each subsequent half hour. If you spend over 2,000 yen you get 2 hours free.
