Saitama Sports Festival 2018 | SAITAMA CITY
May 12, 2018 @ 10:00 - May 13, 2018 @ 18:00
Saitama Sports Festival
This is one of the best sporting events for children of school going age in the Saitama area. And it is so popular that they even have a countdown ticker on the official website!
You can try a number of different sports on the same day as well as enjoy the company of some mascots! This year the sports will include basketball, tennis, soccer, shooting (beam rifle), slackline, karate, bouldering and badminton, among others. There will be some professionals and enthusiasts on site to help kids pick up some tips for some of the sports. A lot of the sports are free to try, there are just a couple you have to pay for.
The Loud Park bouldering, sponsored by Nikken Lease, is one of the really popular free events available annually. They have courses for beginners and intermediate climbers. They also have another stand called Viva La Rock, but they charge for this one as the walls are more challenging. They are charging 500 yen per person.
The 3rd annual Saitama International Marathon will be held on the same day in conjunction with this hugely popular event.
