Day two of the four day Satte Summer Festival sees the children’s mikoshi event. A mikoshi is a portable shrine. Local children participate in carrying the portable shrine through the town.
On the Thursday of the four day festival there is a children’s mikoshi procession annually in the evening. That is the main event of the day and is carried out on Chuo Dori between 7.30 pm and 8.30 pm.
The large lantern floats are one of the major attractions and they can be seen on the other three days of the festival.
Over the four day period approximately 60,000 spectators come to see the festival. There are about 20 festival stalls.
