Omiya Summer Festivals – The Spark Carnival

August 1 @ 08:00 - 17:00

Free
Samba Festival Soka

Spark Carnival – The 32nd annual spark carnival, one of a collective of Omiya Summer Festivals, will be held on Thursday August 1st 2019. The festival is generally on from around  5 pm to 10pm.

Approximately 220,000 people attend this carnival held around Omiya station. It is easily commutable from Tokyo. And it is convenient for anyone who wants to experience a festival on a weekday when there are few other festivals on.

There are stage performances as well as street performers in colourful costumes, with parades and lots of music and dance. The Samba dance performers are one of the highlights of the festival.
