August 17, 2019 @ 09:30 - August 18, 2019 @ 17:00Free
The Saitama Prefectural Disaster Prevention Learning Center are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. As a result, this summer they have laid on even more events than normal. The center is always a fun way to teach kids about disaster readiness, but this summer even more so with their free and interactive events.
This weekend, August 17th and 18th, the center has several additional attractions for families to enjoy.
Saturday August 17th
Every Saturday during the summer holidays there is a free crafting event at the Disaster Prevention Learning Center. Geared toward school aged children, these crafts can be used for the compulsory summer homework project for elementary school. This Saturday the 17th they are making charms with a florescent kappa motif on them. There are two times alloted for this craft: 10 am to 11 am and 2 pm to 3 pm. Children over five years old can participate.
Sunday August 18th
As part of their Sunday programme during the summer holidays there is usually a mini show, but this Sunday is the only Sunday they don’t have a performance show on. However, they have a special disaster readiness event where kids can try transporting a kappa doll on a stretcher. It will be held in the afternoon from 1 pm to 3.30 pm.
