Saitama Aquarium is one of the few freshwater aquariums in Japan. The Spring festival “Waku Waku Park” is held in Saitama Aquarium on the first weekend of June annually. For 2018 those dates are June 2nd and 3rd. The fair is on from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.

On the same day they have tours of the aquarium four times: at 11 am, 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm. The first 20 people each time will be able to avail of the tour. If you are interested in doing the tour please let the staff at the reception desk know and they can give you more information.
Another event they have on the same day at 1 pm is an Unagi (Japanese eel) pet corner of sorts; a chance to pet eel as they pass by in a special container.
Saitama Aquarium Access
Saitama Aquarium is located in Hanyu.
By Car: Take the Hanyu Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway. The aquarium is about 3 km heading towards Kurihashi.
By Train: The aquarium is a little far from a train line and there isn’t a frequent bus on the weekends. On weekdays you can get the town bus. By taxi it is about 7 kilometers / 15 minutes from either Hanyu or Kazo Station on the Tobu Isesaki Line.
