Warabi Hata Festival | WARABI

The Warabi Hata festival is an annual 4 day festival in celebration of the star festival or “tanabata” as it is called in Japanese. It is celebrated along the 1 kilometer of the Nakasendo Trail near the Warabi station.

*Please note that festivals, like all events, are tentative by nature; there maybe changes to the schedule due to weather or other mitigating factors* This is a typical line up at the festival:
Children can write their tanabata messages and stick to bamboo trees from the 2nd to the 5th. Tanabata streamers decorate the streets. They can be seen until the 5th.
Traditional dance parade from 5 pm.
August 4th and 5th
Stage performances in front of KawaShin Bank.
August 3rd, 4th, 5th
Various live performances on the “Star Light” stage in front of the station.
On August 5th the festival ends at 8 pm, every other night it finishes at 9 pm.
