WRITTEN IN 2013, but the places are the same year on year.

Saitama Prefecture Day or Saitama Prefectural day, kenmin no hi in Japanese, is on the 14th of November each year. Many venues and locations offer free entry to their attractions on this day.  You can also get special day tickets for the trains within Saitama.  Below is a list of ten places, selected at random, you can enjoy for free on Saitama Day annually.  There is also additional information about places with discounts within this article. 1. SAITAMA CHILDREN’S ZOO

Free entry to the zoo and the children’s castle for children and adults alike.

Other zoos with free entry include Chikozan park zoo and Tobu Zoo. However, their free entry is not for everyone. In the case of Chikozan Park Zoo free entry is for children only. Tobu Zoo is for University Students only. Outside the prefecture; Aqua World in Ibaraki offers a discount for Saitama citizens on Saitama prefecture day.

2. SAITAMA MUSEUM OF RIVERS

Entry to the grounds, even to the water playground and moreover parking are all free.

Free entry to the aquarium for children.

5. SKIP CITY VISUAL MUSEUM

You can enter the museum for free. Moreover, they usually also have free showings of movies. Please check the official site for more information on the movies, as sometimes you have to apply in advance for a seat.

      Me too! That’s what spurred this post. Last year I saw some great comments and posts AFTER Saitama day and I was thinking; if only I knew! But sheez these types of posts take me forever.
