Nippon Signal Railway Festival

The Kuki branch of Nippon Signal Railway has a railway festival each year. This will be the 10th annual occurrence. However, this year, the festival is in celebration of 150 years of freight railway transportation. On September 15th 1873 the first freight train service started between Shinbashi and Yokohama stations. I am sorry this is very short notice. There are sooooo many events on this weekend. It was a challenge to get even 50% of them either updated (for existing posts) or uploaded (for new to this site posts) on the blog. Moreover, for the same reason, this is a very short and to the point post!

Kuki Railway Festival

The reason I am so keen to get this event out into the world, even if its short notice, is because it looks like a particularly good event for children. Particularly children who are fans of all things trains and railway. They have a mini steam locomotive and road trains at this event. As well as a playroom of plarail and some diorama too. In addition, they have a simulation corner, where you can see what its like to drive a train. They will also have various retail stands, including ones that sell ‘ekiben’.

The festival is held on the grounds of the Kuki branch of Nippon Signal, which is located next to Kuki Shobu Park:
