Sakura ward cherry blossom festival 2024 Saitama City

For the 20 year anniversary of Sakura ward there will be a cherry blossom festival on during the bloom period of the Somei Yoshino. For the special occasion the ward have chosen two locally famous spots for cherry blossom viewing to hold a lively, family friendly festival. They are the grounds of the Sakura Environmental Center and the Arakawa Total Sports Park Street, which are about ten minutes apart by car, but an hour on foot! However, they will have a free loop bus on the day between the two locations.

Sakura Ward Cherry Blossom Festival

This special cherry blossom festival is on Saturday March 23rd 2024, weather permitting. At the Sakura Environmental Center they will have a ‘live stage’ with performances and food booths. At the Arakawa Total Sports Park street there are also booths selling food and drinks. They will have a ‘mini stage’ and a traditional ohayashi performance. In addition, this site will have cherry blossom viewing at night. On the day apart from the free loop bus, they will also have temporary parking lots and bicycle parking to accommodate visitors.

Date: Saturday March 23rd 2024

Time: from 11 am to 3 pm and again from 5.30 pm to 8 pm at the Arakawa Total Sports Park Street Venue. From 10 am to 3 pm at the Sakura Environmental Center location.

Cost: there is no admission fee

The nearest station to the Sakura Environmental Center is Nishi Urawa station on the Musashino Line. It is about a 15 minute walk. By car, the center is relatively close to the Shin Omiya bypass. The Arakawa Total Sports Park is not convenient by public transport, but you can get the free loop bus from Sakura Environmental Center on that day (only).
