Information for the Christmas events at Tokorozawa Sakura Town in 2022. Last year, 2021, they had a “Christmas hikari no market” on Christmas weekend. It was called “market”, but it was not a typical Christmas market. More a series of events, with some food. And it will be the same in 2022. However, unlike in 2021, this year the market will be on for four days – the weekend before Christmas and Christmas weekend.
Christmas at Tokorozawa Sakura Town
The focus of the 2022 Christmas Market at Tokorozawa Sakura town is food. Each of the four days there will be different vendors offering an eclectic mix of food. They will also have different Christmas crafts each of the days. In addition, there will be street music on the days of the market. They are also planning a mini Merry Go Round photo spot, that will be lit up at night. However, you won’t actually be able to ride it – its just for photos!
Christmas Market
The Christmas Market is scheduled for:
- Saturday December 17th
- Sunday December 18th
- Saturday December 24th
- Sunday December 25th
Workshops
During the period of the Christmas market you can make your own Christmas decorations on Saturdays – the 17th and 24th. On each of the four days of the market there will be a candle ornament workshop available. There is also a Christmas wreath workshop on the first weekend – the 17th and 18th.
Tokorozawa Sakura Town also have Christmas Workshops on December 4th and December 18th. Both cost 3000 yen to participate in. On the 4th they will be making a Christmas Block Puzzle. On the 18th they have a wood LED lantern craft event. More information on the official site (Japanese language only).
Not confirmed for 2022
The popular ice rink of 2020 is currently not scheduled for 2022. Also, the LED Candle night is also currently not scheduled. Last year, Ramen Kitchen Walker had a limited edition Christmas menu as did Tully’s coffee. They may have again in 2022, but I haven’t confirmed that information yet. Another element that is not currently in the line up, is character greetings. Last year, Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Keroro and Hana Kappa visited the Christmas market. If information for anything in this paragraph becomes available, I will add it at a later date.
Ongoing events
In addition, there is currently winter illumination at Sakura Town. Furthermore, there are even more ongoing events at Kadokawa Culture Museum, such as Marvel Avenger Station, Lucky Star exhibition and Immersive Van Gogh. Then there is the permanent outdoor exhibition by TeamLab which runs nightly throughout the year.

Tokorozawa Sakura Town
Tokorozawa Sakura Town has shops, restaurants, museums, a factory, offices, a public open space, event space, a shrine and even a hotel. An anime hotel at that.

Access
Tokorozawa Sakura Town is a ten minute walk from JR Musashino Line’s Higashi Tokorozawa Station. By car, the entertainment town is about 3.6 kilometers from the Kanetsu expressway. Parking costs 200 yen per half hour. The first half hour is free.
