Cocoon City Halloween event

Cocoon City Halloween Cocoon City have had a Halloween Parade for quite a few years now, but from 2017 they increased the number of parades as well as the number of Halloween events. Then in 2018 they added even more Halloween celebrations. However, they cancelled most of their Halloween events in both 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. But in 2022, they are having a Halloween Party for the first time in three years.

Halloween Photo Spots

※October 3rd to 31st, Cocoon 2 Omotenashi Plaza.

The Halloween period at Cocoon city started a little bit later than pre-pandemic. It runs from October 3rd until October 31st. During this period there will be a Halloween photo spot in Cocoon2 first floor’s Omotenashi Plaza. On Saturday October 29th and Sunday October 30th they have a photographer on hand to take photos at the Halloween booth for the first 150 people in line with receipt of purchases in Cocoon City of a value of 1000 yen or over.

Halloween Games

※October 15th and 16th, Cocoon 1 in front of GU.

Play with monsters at Cocoon City this Halloween! They have a festival shooting range, hoop throw and sweet stuffing. Each day the first 200 people can participate. You need to have proof of 500 yen worth of shopping at Cocoon to participate to play one game.

Halloween Workshops

Cocoon normally have several Halloween workshops during the Halloween period. However, this is one element that hasn’t quite gone back to pre-pandemic level. Before the pandemic they had at least ten different workshops. This year, there are just two. However, this year they are free for people with more than 1000 yen worth of receipts for shopping in Cocoon City. Whereas before the pandemic most of them had a charge to cover the cost of materials.

The October 22nd workshop is a Halloween Stick and on the 23rd, a pumpkin hat. Each workshop they will allow up to 150 people participate throughout the day. The workshops start from 11 am outside GU in Cocoon 1.

Halloween ‘Symphony’

※October 30th

This year, 2022, the Halloween parade is on Sunday October 30th. Pre-pandemic they had eight parades in total – four on two different days. But this year, there will just be a total of three, each around 30 minutes. They are on Sunday the 30th at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm. This is a free event. They parade around both Cocoon 1 and Cocoon 2 with musicians in costume, who will perform as they parade! 200 participants will receive sweets (candy). Reception for the parade is at Omotenashi Plaza in Cocoon 2.

Cocoon City is open from 10 am to 9 pm, seven days a week.


Cocoon City Halloween

By train: Depending on which building it takes between 3 and 7 minutes walk from Keihin Tohoku, Takasaki and Utsunomiya Line’s  JR Saitama shintoshin Station and about an 8 minute walk from JR Kitayono Station.

By car: Cocoon City is located very close to the Saitama Shintoshin exit of the Metropolitan Expressway Saitama Shintoshin Route.  Cocoon 2 has parking on its roof as well as in an adjacent car park, Cocoon City parking number 3. Parking is charged at 200 yen per 30 minutes. However, if you spend between a 1000 and 2000 yen in Cocoon city on the same day you get one hour free parking, or two hours free for over 2000 yen. You get three hours free if you are using the cinema. *Prices may increase, please check the official site for the most up to date parking fees.
