Kawaguchi Shibakawa Koinobori

At this time of year you can see koinobori in hundreds, thousands of places around Japan, but few are as convenient as the display in Kawaguchi. It is right by the station. Moreover, this is possibly the ONLY place in Japan where you can see a train shaped streamer among all the regular carp koinobori!? Can you make it out in the featured photo!? On one day during the period that the Koinobori are on display, they have a festival. More on that below.

Kawaguchi Shibakawa Koinobori

These koinobori are streamed above the Shiba River in Kawaguchi, right by Shibakawa Park and Kawaguchi Motogo Station, which are East of the Koinobori. Miel Shopping Mall is to the West and also within close walking distance. Thus, a perfect spot to stop by after a bit of shopping or dining in Miel! The featured photo at the top of the post shows part of Sakurabashi (Sakura bridge), which is a popular place from where to view the koinobori. You can also walk along the river embankment and get a photo from below, as per the above photo.
