Erth's Dinosaur Zoo Park in Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa summer 2024

Each year in summer a Dinosaur Park comes to Saitama Prefecture on a few select dates. Before the pandemic the show was called Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo and it was extremely popular and successful. Its had a name and theme change, but is still based on the world renowned travelling dinosaur puppet show. Prior to the pandemic, there were at least four shows in Saitama Prefecture every summer. And they booked up really quickly. However, currently (May 14th 2024) there are only two shows scheduled.

Dinosaur Park

Dinosaur Park is a show that transports you back 65 million years to pre-historic Australia! You observe, meet and interact with amazingly life-like dinosaurs and other creatures presented in a theatrical performance. Some lucky audience members will even get to pet the dinosaurs. The show really thrills and entertains kids, and let’s face it, many adults too! The dinosaurs are brought to life by a team of skilled performers and puppeteers, and were designed with the help of professional paleontologists. They have everything from cute baby dinosaurs to the popular Tyrannosaurus rex. The puppets are so extraordinarily realistic its not uncommon for some kids to get a bit of a fright, until they get used to them.

Dinosaur Goods

In addition to the dinosaur show, you can also pick up a variety of dinosaur goods in the lobby of the show. In addition, there is an AR photo spot where you can take commemorative photos with moving dinosaurs, and a mini dinosaur fossil exhibition. This is a popular summer event for families that attracted approximately 150,000 people between 2021 and 2023 (and even more before the pandemic when it was Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo).
