Brightness Nagatoro Project 2020

December 18 @ 08:00 December 19 @ 17:00

The first ever “Brightness Nagatoro”! Brightness Nagatoro is a new winter illumination event for the Iwadatama ~ Nagatoro Station area of Nagatoro. This special four day event will be held during December over two weekends.

The route from Nagatoro station to the Japan’s first Scenic National Monument Iwadatami will be illuminated. The station itself will also be lit up at night. And at Iwadatami (the natural national monument) they are using projection mapping to digitally hang a scroll by Akira Hasegawa. The rocks will also be decorated with art illumination. You can see the rocks that look like tiered tatami in a new light, if you’ll pardon the pun! Like they’ve never been seen before.

The event is being held four nights in total. The first weekend is Friday December 11th and Saturday the 12th 2020. The second weekend: Friday December 18th and Saturday the 19th. The illumination will be on from 5 to 9 pm for those four nights.

As well as a special edition train ticket, also sold at Nagatoro Station. Did you know; before it was called Nagatoro Station the station was known as Hodosan Station? The 109 year old station has been on the list of the top 100 stations in the Kanto area since 1997.
