In celebration of 75 years of Thomas the Tank Engine, the EJ Anime Museum in Kadokawa Culture Museum in Tokorozawa Sakura Town will host a Thomas the Tank Engine exhibition from April 24th to May 16th 2021. The event is called “Thomas and Friends exciting festival”. The theme of the event is ‘Thomas’ world tour’ – there are six elements to the exhibit three of which are “set” in foreign countries and one in the fictitious Sodor island.

Thomas and friends exciting festival

It is a family friendly event with interactive exhibits. It is a traveling exhibition with its first stop here in Saitama at the EJ Anime Museum. The six areas of the exhibit are:

  1. Entrance area
  2. “Kenya”
  3. “China”
  4. “India”
  5. Sodor Island
  6. Wooden Thomas Diorama

None of the areas are particularly large. Kenya and Sodor Island are photo ops area and China has a very small interactive exhibit. The Thomas Diorama is a play area with wooden Thomas rails and trains. There is also a shop selling Thomas the Tank Engine goods.
