Fujimi City Children’s Festival | FUJIMI
April 21, 2019 @ 10:00 - 15:00Free
The 46th annual Fujimi City Children’s Festival is on Sunday, April 21st, from 10 am to 3 pm. Each year they have a theme for the festival. This years theme is “wide smiling children’s festival”: a very poor literal translation of the Japanese version!
There are a number of different events on the day as well as a flea market. The flea market is run for children by children. The stage performances are also mainly carried out by children and include hip hop and hula dance performances as well as taiko drums. There are some food stalls too. They have a “fureai” and activity corner which typically has some sort of bouncy castle and crafts, and there are usually police cars and bikes for kids to get up close to.
In the event of rain most of the attractions will be moved indoors to the prefectural recreational gym.
Fujimi City Children’s Festival Access
The festival is held in and around Bunka No Mori park in the Tsuruma area of Fujimi City.
It has a nice playground for kids.
Bunka no Mori park is near both Fujimi city Hall and Fujimi City Central Library as well as to Lalaport. You can get the Fujimi city bus from Mizuhodai station on the Tobu Tojo line or you can get a public bus to Fujimi City Hall 「富士見市役所行き」.
There is parking around the area, but they ask that festival goers come by public transport or bike.
