July 5, 2019 @ 10:00 - July 7, 2019 @ 21:00

Fukaya Tanabata Festival Saitama

Fukaya Tanabata Festival – also known as the Fukaya Star Festival.

About 200,000 spectators from Saitama, Tokyo and even further afield, descend on Fukaya to witness the magnificent colours of thousands of tanabata streamers.  There are different highlights for each day of the 3 weekend celebration of Tanabata. Usually there are about 250 festival stalls selling traditional festival food and drink, as well as some with festival games.

On the Friday the festival starts from 3 pm, but Saturday and Sunday it starts from 10 am. It runs until about 9 pm each night.

Like most of Saitama’s summer festivals, this event has no entry or participation fee.
