Hot Air Balloon Shinrin Park Lottery | NAMEGAWA

Hot Air Balloon Shinrin Park – from August 10th to 12th Shinrin park have an hot air balloon ride event. It is even cheaper than the monthly one at Tokorozawa Aviation Park at just 1,500 yen per person. However, you have to apply in advance to be put in a draw for a chance to be one of 200 people (daily, 600 people in total) to ride the hot air balloon over the summer holiday period. (Entrance into the park is 450 yen per adult, children are not charged in).
Trivia: Shinrin Park is officially named Musashi Kyuryo National Government Park. It was the first national Government Park. However, locals call it Shinrin Park and the nearest train station is subsequently called Shinrin Koen Station. Read more about the park here.
In order to be in with a chance to ride on Shinrin Park’s Hot Air balloon ride you need to send a postcard to Shinrin Park by July 21st with the number of people in your party. Please note children must be over four years old to be considered. And children between four and six years old must be accompanied by an adult.

On Saturday August 10th, Sunday August 11th and Monday August 12th the hot air balloon rides are from 6 am to 9 am at the West Gate. The car park is charged from 7 am. It costs 300 yen if you are leaving before 9 am. Otherwise it is 620 yen for the day.
The west exit is where the great splash pad for kids is. It is also where two of the playgrounds are. Shinrin Park has several other events on during the summer. You can see the full line up on their homepage (Japanese language only) and I will be sharing some here on the event pages too.
