Just an hour from Tokyo, this “only in Japan” traditional event is held annually on both the 3rd and 5th of May.

In the large kite festival in the city of Kasukabe is held on May 3rd and 5th of every year,
two large kites (length 15m, side 11m, weight 800kg) of a hundred tatami mats and
two small kites (length 6m, width 4m, weighs 150kg) will float in the sky.
The kite is made for over 3 months and is constructed with Japanese paper and bamboo.
The appearance in which large kites actually fly are a masterpiece. Please come and experience this ancient tradition by all means. Source: Chokotabi Saitama

If there is rain on both days the event will be held on May 6th only.
