Keyaki Hiroba Illumination Fantastic Carnival | SAITAMA CITY
November 9, 2019 @ 17:00 - February 14, 2020 @ 23:55Free
Keyaki Hiroba Illumination – Saitama Shintoshin’s Keyaki Hiroba’s annual winter illumination will start on November 9th 2019 and will run until Valentine’s Day 2020. The lighting ceremony will be on November 9th from 6 pm with guest star Mr Wada from the Triceratops.
This year the theme is similar to last year’s. Last year it was “fantastic carnival magic box”. This year it is just “fantastic carnival”. They used to change the name and image of the illumination each year, but looking at the information for 2019/ 2020 they don’t seem to be diverging from last year’s display much.
About 150 trees are decorated in the night lights. A couple of years ago they increased the number of lights used to 500,000 and last year was the same. There is currently no information online about the numbers used for this year, but it is expected that it will be at least the same as last year. The illumination will be set to music.
Generally the illumination will be on from 5 pm, but for the “switch on” event it starts from 6 pm. There are live performances scheduled for the count down to switch on.
There are a number of other events running in conjunction with this event. For example, the Keyaki Hiroba Christmas Market from November 23rd. Also, there will be Christmas concerts on various dates: you can find all the information in the main event pages for Saitama.
