Kiyasse Children’s Spring Festival | HANYU

March 25 @ 10:00 - 16:00

Children’s Spring Festival – Kiyasse Hanyu is best described by the people responsible for it’s design, Yoshiki Toda Landscape & Architect Co.,Ltd.:

Kiyasse-Hanyu, also called Hanyu Agriculture and Forestry Park, produces a food resort atmosphere with beer restaurants, stores and rest rooms under a huge roof designed to appear as if colorful leaves had fallen down. By arranging the buildings spaciously and locating car parking on the perimiter, unity was achieved throughout landscape. As this site suffers from flooding, a required reservoir and hillocks produced the combination of earth and waterscape. On top of the hill, “magnolia” as a symbol attracts visitors on “the observation deck”.

They hold a number of events during the year. This coming Sunday, March 25th, they will have their popular children’s spring festival from 10 am to 4 pm.  For the most part the festival is free, they even give kids a gift of balloon shaped animals. The kids can hold small pet animals in the petting corner and pound mochi for free too. If you want to eat the mochi it costs 200 yen. The other thing that costs money is the bouncy castle which is 100 yen per turn. The game corner also costs money, except for the throw the hoop activity which is free. There is also playground equipment in the facility that the children can use all year round.

There are three different live acts scheduled for Sunday including a kids hula act who will perform twice, once in the morning (10.40 am) and once in the afternoon (1 pm). The kids taiko performance is at 11.20 am and there is a live band at 2 pm.
