Minami Koshigaya Awa Odori | KOSHIGAYA
August 23 – August 25

Minami Koshigaya Awa Odori Festival 2019 – This year Koshigaya city celebrates the 35th anniversary of the renowned festival.

With its proximity to Tokyo this festival attracts around 70,000 spectators. There are approximately 6,500 dancers performing in the traditional Awa dance. Apart from the performances, you can also enjoy festival booths.
The 2019 festival is scheduled for three days, from Friday August 23rd to Sunday 25th. On Friday the festival starts at 7 pm. On Saturday and Sunday it begins at 2 pm. Each day it finishes up around 9 pm.
Minami Koshigaya Awa Odori Access
The festival is held around the area of JR Musashino Line’s Minami Koshigaya Station and Tobu Skytree Line’s Shinkoshigaya stations.
There is no parking available and due to the sheer number of visitors it is advised that you come, where possible, by public transport, bike or on foot.

Things to do in Koshigaya
Koshigaya is home of Japan’s largest shopping mall, Koshigaya LakeTown. There are several things to do in the mall and its grounds. Currently they have a seasonal dinghy park.
