Moku Moku Festival | KAWAGOE

March 31 @ 10:00 16:00

The first ever Moku Moku festival in Mokkokan Kawagoe. Ishihara Mokkokan is a real fun and quirky mini mall near Penny Candy Alley in Kawagoe. It is home to a few of the styrofoam art displays famous in Kawagoe. There is a free retro showa museum beside the main cafe Mokkokan. Another cafe is tucked away in the back of the car park. And there is a bakery and gallery also in the row of shops.

This one day festival, the inaugural Moku Moku festival, will take place as part of the larger Koedo Kawagoe Spring Festival that starts on March 30th and runs all the way up to children’s day on May 5th. It starts at 10 am and finishes around 4 pm.

There are several events planned for the day including a free woodworking class. They have many crafts, entertainment and shopping as well as gourmet. The first 100 customers will receive a present of homemade bread.

There maybe changes in the event of rain, but they are currently planning to go ahead even if it is raining.

Moku Moku Festival Access

Mokkokan cafe is approximately 60 meters from the new end of Kashiya Yokocho or Penny Candy Alley, the end furthest away from the station / rest of the tourist area. So it is quite a walk from the nearest stations: Hon-Kawagoe or Kawagoeshi stations. You can get one of the tourist buses to the penny candy alley and walk over the bridge to the other side of the river.

If you leave Penny Candy Alley with it to your back and turn left you will come to a bridge. Cross over the bridge and take the first left after the bridge, you will see Mokkokan on your right hand side. Free parking available for about 10 cars, however, they won’t be available during the festival.
