Rose Festival Yono – Friday April 24th. Tonight on the 9 pm national news on NHK they showed a park in Saitama Prefecture cutting the buds of roses. A quick search online revealed that the park was Yono Park in central Saitama City.

The 2020 festival had already been cancelled by the city, but now not only will there not be a festival, there won’t be any roses. The drastic action was taken to prevent people congregating in the park this year.

From tomorrow, April 25th, Saitama will start a ten day “stay home” drive in a bid to reduce the ever increasing numbers of COVID-19 patients. More on the Saitama Stay Home on City-cost here.
