Saimina Festa 2019 brought to you by Honda Cars has been postponed until Sunday 16th of June due to the likelihood of rain this coming Sunday.
The festa was initially scheduled for the 9th, but due to inclement conditions has been postponed until Sunday June 16th. It is on from 9 am and 4 pm in the Dai Ni car park of Kawagoe Water Park.
Saimina is a contraction of Saitama Minami. It is the colloquial name for Honda Cars company in southern Saitama. This year the Saimina Festa will be there biggest to date. They have increased the number of food stalls as well as upgraded some other features. The line up:
- New and used car sales
- Festival food booths
- Flea Market
- “Garapon” lottery
- Kids Area
- Stage performances
The kids area includes some typical festival games such as hoops as well as food and drink sales. They will give kids a present of a balloon. You can get popcorn if you print off this coupon.
Stage performances include dance, music and shows that will appeal to children. They have a mascot show at 12.30 to 1 pm, but there is also a mascot “greeting” and photo opportunity at 9 am and a greeting at 3.30 pm. And there is a kids dance show at 1.30 pm.
If it is raining on June 9th the festival will be postponed for a week. As per update above, the festival has been postponed for a week. You will need to check the official website for any further announcements.
Saimina Festival Access
The nearest train station is Nishikawagoe on the JR Kawagoe line. The park is a 15 minute walk from that station. Or you can get a bus from downtown Kawagoe. As the festival is being held in one of the parking lots there will be limited parking on the day.
