Water Fight Festival and World Festa | SAITAMA
July 26 @ 10:00 - July 28 @ 20:00Free
The 18th annual Saitama Shintoshin Keyaki Hiroba Water Fight Festival and World Festa has been switched back to July this year. (Last year it was in August for the first time). It will take place on Friday July 26th, Saturday July 27th and Sunday July 28th.
The grounds and food booths will be open from 10 am to 8 pm (5 pm on the 31st). The water fights will take place between 11 am and 1 pm and again between 2 pm and 4 pm. There is a kiddies pool for children under three years old.
The water fight festival is based on the Thai festival of Songkran, where throwing water is believed to encourage a good harvest and good health. There is no cover charge to participate in the water throwing festival. You can pay to try some cuisine from different parts of the world.
The event will go ahead in the case of light rain, but will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or a typhoon.

This event was advertised in a family summer mook (magazine) in 2017, linked below. The link is to an external site Amazon.co.jp, which insaitama.com is part of their affiliation programme. Any purchase you make through this link, the blog will make a very small percentage of the sale, which contributes to the costs of self hosting this website.
Water fight festival was first published on Saitama With Kids in 2017 and is updated annually.
