Get a photo with Santa Claus at the Ikea Shinmisato

Santa Claus is coming back to the Ikea in Shinmisato this year. The Ikea Shinmisato has been on Santa’s Japan rounds for many years now, but he had to take a little break during the pandemic. But in 2023 he will visit on four different dates, two times each day…

Santa Claus will be at Ikea Shinmisato on the two weekends before Christmas. Each day he will be available twice for an hour each time. The times are from noon to 1 pm and from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm on the 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th of December. He welcomes families, or even a group of friends, to come along and get a memorable photo taken with him. This is a free event and you need to have your own camera with you. Santa Claus is in the ‘Christmas Market’, in the self service area of the store.

If at all possible, it is best to come by public transport. The roads get very congested around the mall. The quickest we ever got from the Misato Interchange to Lalaport / Ikea Shinmisato, was 20 minutes, but we were stuck in traffic for one hour once. Even though the distance is only 3.4 kilometers! We’d have been quicker walking! Ikea is located close to Shin Misato station (written as Shim-Misato on Google Maps!)
