Joylife Art and Organic

Back in June I shared information for the first Joylife! Art and Organic festival, thinking it was an one off event. It was so successful, with more than 3000 visitors, that since September the Amazing college now leases the grounds for events at the weekends. Joylife is the biggest event they hold, like a festival of sorts. Since winter 2023 – 2024 they have TWO weekends of the art and organic festival each month…

Joylife! Art and Organic

This is a really wonderful event with various elements. The school and this event are very child-centric. One of the regular features of the Joylife events is a Bornelund play area. This part of the festival you have to pay into, but there are plenty of free events too. For example, the giant trampoline, cardboard workplace, music booth or the chalk art board, which are regular booths at the festival. There is also a shooting gallery as part of the regular features. It costs 300 yen. Another regular feature is the children’s market. In addition to events for children, they also have workshops, a market and food trucks as part of the regular ‘booths’ as well. Each time they also have ‘special’ or pop-up / visiting booths too.

Amazing College

Amazing College is an alternative educational facility that looks more like a church than an event space! I vaguely recall that it was a wedding facility when I first moved to Saitama. Although the address is Higashimatsuyama, its just a stone’s throw, so to speak, from the 100 Caves of Yoshimi.
