Kagohara Summer Festival

Information for the annual Kagohara Summer Festival in Kumagaya City.

Kagohara Summer Festival

Each year on July 19th and 20th, regardless of what day of the week they fall, the Kagohara area of Kumagaya have their annual summer festival. It was sorely missed for three years in a row during the pandemic. This summer festival in Kumagaya is much lesser known than the famous Kumagaya Uchiwa festival. However, it still attracts about 22,500 spectators over the two day period. Moreover, it actually overlaps with the Uchiwa Festival for one day, on the 20th. This year, 2024, the festival falls on a Friday and Saturday, so it will probably be busier than usual. It is on near the North exit of Kagohara station, a 110+ year old railway station on the Takasaki Line.
