Konosu Poppy Fields

Kounosu Flower Festival – The poppy festival that is held annually in Konosu is quite well known, but it is actually just one part of a larger “flower festival”. There are also other flowers in bloom and flower events on in mid May in Konosu. Hence overall the festival is referred to as a flower festival, not just a poppy festival. This post contains information for all elements of the Konosu Flower Festival.

Konosu Flower Festival

There are four main points of interest in four different locations. They are essentially poppy fields, rose gardens and open gardens. The city of Konosu hold different events on the weekends during the flower festival period. At Happy Poppy Square, Japan’s largest poppy field, they have food vans throughout the period of the festival (on fine days).
