A grid with photos representing the May events in Saitama Prefecture

The May monthly round up of events on in Saitama.  I add new events all the time, so please do pop back every now and then. Each event is linked to a page with further information. If there is a ⇗ in front of the event name it means the link is external, usually the official event page. A star ★ in front of the event name indicates an event of note, one that I personally recommend, and / or one not to miss, especially if you live in Saitama Prefecture. A lot of these events are easily commutable from Tokyo, Chiba, Ibaraki and Gunma too. As events by their very nature are tentative, please do always check with the official websites (linked within each post) for any last minute changes and the most up to date information.

Weekend events in May

Hereafter, events on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. Typically, I only include weekday events if they are public holidays, with the occasional exception. But anything in the daily list is available on weekdays, if the venue is open. Often attractions are closed one day a week, with Monday closures being the most common. Also, bear in mind, some of these events are dependent on the weather! The ⇗ symbol in front of a link indicates that the link is to an external, usually Japanese language, source.
