During the months of October and November each of the wards in Saitama City have a citizen festival. The Citizen Festival in Midori ward is one of the most child friendly with, among other things, a mini steam locomotive for children. They also have a lot of kids performances in the stage shows, including one “dance in English from SCB”! That’s on at 11.35 am. Other performances include kid’s music groups, taiko and eisa.

Please note, if it is raining on the day the mini steam locomotive will not be available. They also cancel the stage events when its raining. Moreover, they sometimes cancel the whole event if the weather is very bad.

Time: from 10 am to 3 pm

Cost: there is no admission fee.

There is parking at the stadium, but whenever there is an event on they recommend you come by public transport. The stadium is about a 15 minute walk from Urawa Misono Station. There are two free shuttle buses to the stadium on the day of the festival. One does a loop from the stadium to the Midori Ward Office to Higashi Urawa Station and back to the stadium. The other stops at the stadium, the Polytech Center and Bamba Orikaeshijo bus stop.
