Numakage Park

Finally, this year (2023), Numakage are opening their summer pools from early July. However, one of the pandemic stipulations still remains – you need to purchase a ticket in advance…

Numakage Summer Pools 2023

In 2022, Numakage Park uncharacteristically only opened their popular outdoor pool in the month of August. In 2023, they will be open as before the pandemic: weekends in early July and daily from school summer holidays. However, they will still be limiting the number of people that can enter each day. In 2022, that number was 860 people, but they haven’t specified for 2023 yet (June 17th 2023). They have said though, that just like last year you will need to buy a ticket in advance from a 7-11 convenience store. They haven’t gone on sale yet.

This is one of the few pools that allow you in even if you have tattoos, but only if they are completely covered up and not visible. A lot of other pools have a strict no tattoo policy – they won’t let you in even if your tattoos are not visible.

8 pools including 1 with waves and 2 suitable for young children (who are out of nappies). The children’s pools have a maximum of 50 cm of water and both have slides. The outdoor 50 meter pool can only be used by Junior High School students and older students / people – it cannot be used by elementary school students or younger.

Numakage Park Summer Pools Information

Dates: July 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th – 17th, Saturday July 22nd to Thursday August 31st 2023. These pools, like most outdoor pools, are weather dependent. That is, they only open on fine days.

Hours: from 9 am daily. The pools close at 6 pm until August 14th and at 5.30 pm from August 15th to 31st.

Prices: You need to buy a ticket in advance from a 7-11 convenience store. The price (if the same as 2022) is 440 yen for adults, 220 for primary to high school students, preschoolers and below free. *However, children still in nappies / diapers can not enter the pools, not even in pool pants*. From my understanding, you can buy a ticket ten days in advance of the date you want to go. However, as of June 17th 2023, the finer details for tickets are not yet available. But Saitama City have said you definitely will need to buy them in advance and there will be no tickets at the door.

Editor’s note: this post was temporarily removed from the site during the pandemic as the pools closed between 2020 and 2021. They reopened in 2022, but only for the month of August. 180629
