On Sunday June 2nd the annual rugby festival is on in the Kumagaya Sports and Culture Park. It will take place from 10 am to 4 pm. It is presented by the Saitama Institute Rugby Football Union and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games/Rugby World Cup 2019 Saitama Prefecture Promotion Committee. With the co-operation of the Akagi (Gari gari kun) Company.
As part of the festival you can watch a University Rugby Football match. That part of the event costs money. 1,500 yen for adults and 500 yen for High school or University students. Children younger than 15 get in for free.
Apart from that there are several stage performances including a talk show about rugby with special guest stars. There is also food booths and a book market.

There are several ways to get to the Kumagaya Sports and Culture Park by public transport. But they all start from Kumagaya Station on the Takasaki line. From the station’s North exit there are several buses that run to or close to the park.
By car there are three highway exits that are relatively near: Hanazono or Higashimatsuyama exits of the Kanetsu expressway or the Hanyu Interchange of the Tohoku expressway.
