Santa Redbrick Warehouse – The landmark Redbrick Warehouses in Yokohama (akarenga 赤レンガ), Kanagawa Prefecture, are running a number of Christmas events again this holiday season. One of the highlights for families with small children is the chance to meet Santa Claus.

Redbrick Warehouse Santa Dates

If you are looking to visit Santa on a weekday near Tokyo, this might be the place for you. As all the Santa dates at the Redbrick Warehouse in Yokohama are weekdays.

They do not provide specifics of how or times of when you can meet him, but in previous years he was walking around the redbrick warehouses. If you can find him, you can get your photo taken with him. He gives out presents to small children only. 

Christmas Events at Redbrick Warehouse

Christmas Market

Other Christmas events at the Redbrick warehouses include a Christmas market which will start around mid November and run until Christmas day.

Seasonal Ice rink

Another event, their annual art rink, usually starts on December 1st and will run until mid February. The hours vary during the season, but typically you can skate from early afternoon until 10 pm. During Christmas week, from the 21st to the 25th, the rink will be open from 11 am to 11 pm.

Workshops

They have several workshops running while the Christmas market is on. One is a Christmas wreath workshop. Each workshop costs money and prices start at 1,500 yen per craft. The schedule with dates, times and workshop details here.

Several live performances are scheduled during the Christmas market period. You can enjoy Christmas songs performed live at 2 pm and 5 pm in the Christmas market area on dates yet to be provided for 2020. This event will not go ahead if there is heavy rain or inclement conditions.
