On Saturday November 11th there will be three separate citizen festivals or fairs on in Saitama city. One in Chuo ward, one in Menuma Ward and the other in Nishi Ward. The one in Chuo Ward will also be on on Sunday.

Saitama City Festivals November 11th 2023
Chuo Ward Citizen Festival

The Chuo Ward Festival will actually be on both Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th. It will be on from 10 am to 3 pm both days. The festival involves a market and live stage performances. On the Sunday they will have Saisai Bon Odori dance.

Access: about a five minute walk from Yono-honmachi station.
Minuma Ward Fureai Fair

It looks like a nice event for families. There is a flea market, food stalls, sports corner, kids corner, mini steam locomotive, stamp rally and live performances at this one day fair in Horisaki Park.

Venue: Horisaki Park, Horisaki Central Park and Minuma Ward Office, which are all located beside each other. View on Google Maps.
Access: there will be a free shuttle bus from Higashi Omiya Station on the day. It will make five stops between the station and the venue. You can see the route and timetable here. The nearest train station though is Owada Station. Its about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the station to the venue.
Nishi Ward Fureai Festival

The annual Nishi ward fair is held in Mihashi Park. There are stage performances, a farmer’s market, food stalls and a children’s corner. In the children’s corner children can try paper crafts, darts, making badges, glass etching and traditional Japanese games.

Access: The park gets very busy for this festival so they request that you come on foot, by bicycle or by bus. The park is about a 30 to 35 minute walk from Omiya Station, there are also public buses that go from the station.
These festivals and fairs in Saitama City are for citizens of each ward, but they also attract people from neighboring cities and towns. The area of Saitama City is very built up and congested on an average day, but even more so when there are any large events on. Where possible, it is best to travel by public transport.
