For the second year in a row, the Yorii Tamayodo Tengu Fireworks and Festival are cancelled on account of the Coronavirus. Normally, this magnificent event takes place the first Saturday of August.
Yorii Tamayodo Tengu Fireworks and Festival
A spectacular setting of lantern floats with the magnificent backdrop of fireworks in this traditional festival that attracts about 70,000 people. Around 5000 fireworks are launched including the Niagara type and starmines. In addition, you can buy festival type food and drinks as there are about 80 stalls in the main viewing area. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus outbreak the event was cancelled in both 2020 and 2021.
The fireworks are launched near the river close to the Saitama Museum of Rivers. You can spectate for free, but if you would like to enjoy priority seating with table and chairs for up to 4 people you can book in advance for 10,000 yen. From the official site: ☎０４８－５８１－２１２１, email@example.com
There is free parking for up to 2000 cars, but you would want to arrive early to secure a place. The nearest station is Yorii station on the JR Hachiko, Tobu Tojo and Chichibu Railway lines. It is only about a 15 minute walk from the station. However, it can be quite muddy, so appropriate footwear is advised.
Approximately 10 minutes by car from the Hanazono Interchange of the Kanetsu Expressway.
