Information for an Autumn festival in September at Myozenji Temple, Kasukabe, Saitama, Japan. With the weather as hot as it is, its hard to believe it is Autumn. Furthermore, its even harder to digest the fact that there are Autumn festivals already on the calendar. One such Autumn festival coming up, in just a couple of weeks at the end of September, is the Myozenji (Shingonshuchisanha Myozen temple) Autumn Festival in Kasukabe City. Disclaimer: I have not yet been to this festival personally.
Myozenji Temple Autumn Festival Kasukabe

As you can see in the flyer above, the festival is on Sunday September 28th 2025, from 10 am to 3 pm. On the day they have four main elements; hands on experiences, sales, food trucks and the Myozenji Cafe. In the “experience corner” they have a ‘shateki’ which is a shooting gallery. They also have nagashi somen, where you catch noodles with chopsticks as they sail down a bamboo shoot. Both of those activities are very popular with children. They will also have workshops and a gachapon. In the sales corner they will have new rice available. And in the Myozenji cafe you can get an onigiri plate, made with new rice. The food trucks have yakiimo and takoyaki available.
