Each year in Autumn, Yashio City – like many other cities and towns across Japan – have a citizen’s festival. However, during the pandemic they didn’t have the festival. This is the 29th occurrence of the citizen’s festival in Yashio City and the first time it is on in four years.
Yashio Citizen’s Festival

As you can see from the photo above, there are various different elements to the festival. That photo does not include the Halloween specific information, but there is a dedicated page for the Halloween information (here). The Halloween parade goes from 10.50 am. But please note it is limited to 100 participants. There are also four other parades, which are the blue five in the photo above, including a children’s mikoshi (portable shrine) parade. In addition, you can enjoy live performances at this event and they have lots of extras for kids.
The day before the festival, there is a sumo tournament in Yashio. Information for that is also included on the official page for this event. There is also another Halloween event in Yashio this weekend. On Saturday there is an Halloween event for children at Frespo Yashio, between 10 am and 3 pm. Event information on the official website here.
