Higashimatsuyama City offers two different type of strawberry picking experiences, at the same location, and one of them is one of the cheapest in the prefecture. But you need to book in advance. Due to the cheap cost, as well as the nice location of the picking farm and the early start of the picking season, people book early and it is not uncommon for all places to be taken within weeks. If you would like to pick at this farm, it is recommended that you book early. Higashimatsuyama Strawberry Picking
The strawberry picking greenhouses are located at Higashimatsuyama Agriculture Park, or Higashimatsuyama Norin (Nourin) Park from the Japanese 東松山農林公園. Strawberry picking is one of the main offerings of the park. It starts in either December or January, depending on the weather. As it is a municipal facility it is much cheaper than a private strawberry picking farm. The price went up more than 10% in 2023 though, and again slightly in both 2025 and 2026, but it is still much cheaper than most other strawberry picking farms.
Moreover, they offer two different type of picking experiences. The cheap one allows you pick strawberries for 30 minutes for just 850 yen. But if you want to pick Saitama Prefecture varieties it costs 1800 yen for 30 minutes. The prices come down a bit towards the end of the season. The season starts on December 20th 2025 and ends around the end of May. From April 13th the prices come down to 750 yen for general picking and 1500 yen for Saitama varieties. From May 7th until the end of season the prices are 600 yen for general picking and 1200 yen for Saitama variety strawberries.

Access: The park is located close to main route 407. It is in Higashimatsuyama just before Kumagaya and close to the North exit of Shinrin Park, also known as Musashi Kyuro National Government Park. There are two free parking lots. y public transport you can get bus from Tobu Tojo Line’s Higashimatsuyama station’s south exit bound for Kumagaya and alight at Shinkotani「神光谷」bus stop . The park is a ten minute walk from the bus stop.
