Go Go Halloween, the largest Halloween Event in Kita-Kanto

Go Go Halloween is on annually at Hanipon Plaza and the Ginza Shopping Street area in Honjo City. Except for one year (2021) during the pandemic when they held it at Marigold Hill! According to the organizers, this is the largest Halloween event in Kita-Kanto. Since last year it is even bigger than ever and on for longer than normal as they now have a Samba parade at the event too.

Go Go Halloween 2026

Prior to the pandemic, GOGO Halloween was one of the largest Halloween events in the Kita-Kanto area. Kita-Kanto is generally considered to be the Northern area of the Kanto plain comprising Ibaraki, Tochigi and Gunma prefectures. However, Saitama is also considered to be part of Kita-kanto, particularly Northern Saitama.

GoGo Halloween is on, all things equal, Sunday October 25th, 2026 from 10 am to 3 pm. It may be cancelled if there is rain. The Ginza Shopping Street is pedestrianized for the occasion. They open the event at 10 am with a ceremony followed by various events, including a taiko performance and a cheer leading performance. The costume contest is on from 12.45 pm and the parade from 2 pm. Participants in costume will receive candy. The Samba Parade is from 2.20 pm.

There is a market on the day too. In addition, there are live stage performances. There will also be Hallowe’en photo spots around the town. They are still adding information to their Instagram account, which I have linked in the information section below.

Access

The event area is a few minutes walk North West of the North exit of JR Honjo Station. There are several coin parking lots on the North side of the station.
