Last year, 2021, for the first time ever, the Go Go Halloween event was on at Marigold Hill. Due to the pandemic they hosted it there, so it would be completely outdoors. However, this year the event will be back at its real home: at Hanipon Plaza and the Ginza Shopping Street area. According to the organizers, this is the largest Halloween event in Kita-Kanto.
Go Go Halloween
Prior to the pandemic, GOGO Halloween was one of the largest Halloween events in the Kita-Kanto area. Kita-Kanto is generally considered to be the Northern area of the Kanto plain comprising Ibaraki, Tochigi and Gunma prefectures. However, Saitama is also considered to be part of Kita-kanto, particularly Northern Saitama.
GoGo Halloween will be held, all things equal, on Sunday October 23rd from 10 am to 3 pm. It will not go ahead if there is either rain or a State of Emergency is declared. People who come in costume, can receive sweets from shops on the Ginza Shopping Street. The Ginza Shopping Street will be pedestrianized for the occasion. In the morning they have events and from 1 pm they have a costume parade. There is a “Hallowe’en market” on too. In addition, there are live stage performances. There will also be Hallowe’en photo spots around the town. They are still adding information to their Facebook page, which is linked in the information section below.
