Information for two ‘summer’ festivals near Kasumigaseki and Matoba train stations. However, this year, the annual “Kahokusai” with a Night Fair, in the Kakuei Shopping District (Kasumigaseki, Kawagoe) is on in October. The second, Kakuei Homes Summer Festival, on in neighboring Isehara-cho, will be on in August as usual. However, this year it is only on for one day rather than the usual two.
Kahokusai and Night Fair
Kahokusai & Night Fair 2026 will take place on Saturday, 3rd October 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kakuei Shopping Street in Kasumigaseki Kita, Kawagoe. It is organized by the Kasumigaseki Kita Residents’ Association and the Kakuei Shopping Street Promotion Association. This community festival promises an afternoon and evening of family-friendly entertainment.
Visitors can enjoy traditional festival games such as ring toss, shooting games, and a prize lottery, alongside food trucks, market stalls, workshops, and live stage performances. Local highlights include a children’s mikoshi procession, stamp rally, fire engine display, autumn festival dancing, and a choir performance by Kasumigaseki Kindergarten. The event will conclude with a sparklers gathering from 7:00 pm. Moreover, they will be giving out 200 free packs of Japanese-made sparklers – available on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will be cancelled in severe weather, and visitors are asked to use nearby paid parking as no on-site parking is available.

Access: the Kakuei Shopping District is about an eight minute walk from Kasumigaseki Station on the Tobu Tojo line and about a 17 minute walk from Matoba Station on the Kawagoe Line.
Kakuei Homes Summer Festival Fair
Kakuei Homes is a housing show park relatively near Oisezuka park and Starbucks. As it is on in a housing show park it is not your typical festival, but they have festival food and games. Kakuei Ennichi 2026 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 29th August at the Kakuei Homes Kasumigaseki Branch. The event is being hosted as a local summer community gathering and is expected to offer a festival atmosphere for families and residents in the Kasumigaseki area. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional ennichi-style activities while connecting with local businesses and neighbours in a relaxed setting.
