Another local festival for you today – this time in Fujimi City. The 41st Mizuhodai Festival (みずほ台祭り), a Bon Odori festival, will take place on August 29th, 2026, bringing summer energy back to the west side of Mizuhodai Station. They have already decorated the streets with red‑and‑white lanterns, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the neighborhood. This long‑loved community festival runs from 2 pm to 8 pm, centered around the Mizuhodai Station West Exit rotary, Suzukake Street, and nearby areas.
Mizuhodai Festival, a summer festival in Fujimi
The festival opens with a performance by the Nishi Junior High School Brass Band at 2 pm. Throughout the afternoon, local dance teams, including YDC Dance Studio, MISA KID☆S, and Saitama Junior Dance Club, will take the stage with energetic performances. In the evening, visitors can enjoy bon odori hosted by the neighborhood association, along with stage acts by a variety of singers and entertainers such as Tokyohiiro, Ayukawa Yuki, Ago Isamu, Yamada Ryuji & Daisuke, Chinone, and Ishihara Tadashi. Special Attraction: Janken Tournament
One of the festival’s biggest highlights is the “Fun Janken Tournament” hosted by Naoki Ikeya, known for his world record of clearing a 23‑step vaulting box. The tournament begins around 4:50 pm at the rotary’s special stage, with chances to win snacks for lucky participants.
Nishi Mizuhodai Shopping Association and the Mizuhodai Festival Executive Committee organize this event. With support from neighborhood associations, Shukutoku University, Sekizawa Elementary School, Harigaya Elementary School, and many volunteers.
